Turkey’s Rumeisa Gelgi, 2.15 meters tall, entered the Guinness Book of Records last year as the tallest woman in the world.

Turkish Airlines adapted one of its planes so that Gelgi could fly to San Francisco in September. Six seats were removed, replacing them with special stretchers he could sleep on during the 13-hour flight.

Gelgi, 25, had never traveled by plane due to his height.

The height of the turntable is determined by a rare genetic disease: Weaver’s syndrome, which causes accelerated growth.

Gelgi moves primarily in a wheelchair, but is also able to do so using a walker.

On Instagram, Gelgi posted several photos of herself on the trip, saying it was a “flawless journey from start to finish”.

“This was my first flight, but it certainly won’t be my last,” he wrote. “A heartfelt thanks to every single person involved in my journey”.

The tallest woman in the world who ever lived was Zen Jinlian from China. Before her death in 1982, she was 246.3 centimeters tall.
