Lübeck – The 1. FC Phoenix Lübeck played a 1:1 draw for the second time in a row. After sharing the points against HSV II last Friday, there was also a draw against Kickers Emden. After Podolski’s opening goal, Anton Ihde was there and secured a point for the Eagles. The sporting aspect, however, was of secondary importance on this day, as Valdemar Sadrifar injured his foot badly in the first half. The Lübeck team will play against the Regional League North against Holstein Kiel II.
Good opponent, heavy legs
Head Coach Christiano Adigo said the following about his team’s performance: “The story is quickly told. I think that we had a very, very difficult time getting into the game today. We played against a really good, very aggressive newly promoted team. The combinations were not as clean as usual. But that’s normal. We’ve had a good English week with a fairly small squad, where a number of injured players were out. All Phoenix players can be happy and go home happy that we got a fair 1:1 today. It could have turned out differently, in either direction. In the end we could have won, but in my opinion that would not have been deserved.”
