One day this gadget could save your life or defend you in court.
Dutch company Slimdesign presented PhoneCam is a smart miniature clip-on camera that attaches to clothing and works like a car DVR.
PhoneCam is a camera with a button and a flashlight. The dimensions of the gadget do not exceed the dimensions of the cigarette lighter. A wide-angle module capable of recording video at 1080p/30 fps is responsible for shooting. A microphone, 4G/5G and Wi-Fi communication modules are also provided.
PhoneCam must be worn on you at all times. If the user finds himself in a dangerous situation, he needs to press a large button located on the body of the gadget. At this moment, the built-in flashlight will begin to flash white, which can warn the aggressor.
If the situation continues to escalate, the user needs to press the button a second time – the red light will turn on and the recording will begin. The video will not be recorded on the device’s memory, but will be immediately sent to the cloud and to the police. The video recording can then be used in court.
The user can also select one trusted contact – PhoneCam will send a notification to the contact while recording the video, and he will be able to see the location of his friend, watch the video live and communicate using the camera.
The PhoneCam rescue camera is already available for pre-order in Europe. Price – 69 dollars (6300 rubles). The jacket clip is worth 39 dollars (3600 rubles). They promise to bring the device to CES 2024, which will be held from January 9 to 12.
