Description
The economic forecasts for Germany do not look good. Anna Sigrist and Claudia Davies went looking for clues: Leading companies such as Miele, Bosch, VW and SAP are cutting many jobs. Thousands of employees, some of them highly qualified, are no longer needed. At the same time, there is a shortage of skilled workers almost everywhere. Companies are moving abroad. And the DAX is at a constant high. How can all this be explained? The five economists do not see the future of the German economy as bleak. They rely on a more radical future orientation and demand not to cling to old, previously successful economic sectors. Interview partners are Volker Treier, deputy general manager of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Prof. Ulrike Malmendier from the Council of Experts.
