CHARLOTTE, NC – Devin Booker scored 35 points and Chris Paul added 16 in the Phoenix Suns’ 101-97 overtime win over the Charlotte Hornets in Sunday NBA action.
Deandre Ayton finished with 14 points and Mikal Bridges had 13 for the Suns, who won three of four games on a tour of the southeastern United States.
Devonte Graham led Charlotte with 30 points and Terry Rozier had 22 points and 10 rebounds. Miles Bridges also had a “double-double” (18 points and 12 boards), Gordon Hayward had 15 and PJ Washington added 12 rebounds.
A crowd of 3,850 fans watched the Hornets force overtime with a Rozier 3-pointer to tie the game at 90 points with 33.5 seconds remaining.
Neither team could extend its lead to more than eight points in a first half that recorded eight lead changes and six draws.
Phoenix started the second half on an 11-0 streak. Charlotte’s first field goal was a 3-pointer by Hayward at 6:20, with an assist from Bridges.
