A week of exceptional documentary films. On the occasion of this year’s Cologne Film Festival, where phoenix presents the documentary film award for the 15th time, the events and documentation channel presents a “best of” political documentary film in the linear program and in the ARD and ZDF multimedia libraries .
Eleven outstanding current productions can be seen. Detective stuff, like The Indomitable – Freedom of the press in danger in the Philippines by Marc Wiese #Dieselgate – The machinations of the German auto industry by Johan von Mirbach e Die Recyclingluge by Tom Costello and Benedikt Wermter, who, as exciting as thrillers, investigate political grievances in a criminal way. In addition, phoenix presents documentaries that tell their explosive themes in a very human way through strong protagonists and get under your skin, like Black Eagles on racism in football by Torsten Körner, Fuck this job – adventures in Russian journalism by Vera Kritechevskaya e Prayer by Pol Cruchten on survival after Chernobyl.
