The Phoenix Award for long-term Swiss entrepreneurship is entering its second year. The award is given to Swiss SMEs that have mastered their succession for at least a century. Interested companies can apply now.

To honor the company’s succession, the Successor bus initiative 2020 the Phoenix Award for long-term Swiss entrepreneurship. After its successful premiere, it will be awarded again this year. This honors Swiss SMEs who have achieved the entrepreneurial performance of the succession plan over a period of at least 100 years. They get the stage they deserve. Most of the time, these companies had to overcome more than one crisis and rise again like a “Phoenix from the ashes”.
For the potential of long-term entrepreneurship
The focus as potential winners for the Phoenix Award is on the one hand Swiss SMEs that are entered in the Swiss commercial register for 100 years in the respective year, i.e. since 1921 this year. These can be determined using the publicly accessible entries.
At the same time, if possible, all companies that were founded 100 years ago or 1921 without entry in the commercial register, to be included as possible prize winners. These are cordially invited to join until May 30, 2021 to report to [email protected] if you meet these criteria:
- Founded in 1921
- Swiss SMEs
- Group-independent or privately run
A specialist jury with representatives from entrepreneurship, science and the media will determine the winners of the Phoenix Award 2021 in the categories from these companies
- Innovation / Disruption / Renewal Ability
- Team effort
- Social / economic contribution
The winners of the award, which will be presented for the first time in 2020, are the Louis Morand & Cie SA Distillery, Martigny, and the Rüetschi AG, Aarau.
Phoenix Award as motivation and inspiration

They all write a piece of Swiss company history with their own history and contribute to the preservation of the economic substance, ”says Carla Kaufmann, summing up the intention of the Phoenix Award.
