Philosophical Hamilton warns Verstappen: “It’s not over yet!”

During a strong period for Mercedes on paper, Lewis Hamilton was unable to make a hole in the battle for the world title. In fact, due to a penalty in Turkey, he lost the championship lead to Max Verstappen. The Dutchman was able to further extend his lead in the United States last weekend.

Now that two circuits are arriving that are better on paper for Red Bull, Verstappen can enter the last three races of the year with a comfortable lead. However, Hamilton knows that nothing is taken for granted during the 2021 Formula 1 season and is and remains very combative. The battle is far from over.

The day after the race, Hamilton took to Instagram, where he unpacked with the text: “It’s not over! Monday was a day of reflection. We gave everything on Sunday, but afterwards you always realize that you could have done more or maybe we have to. We assess, regroup, recharge and get back into the fight!”

“There is still time. There are obstacles, but together we can achieve anything if we focus on them. Let’s keep pushing, everyone! We stay fit, we stay strong, we stay focused and still we rise!” said the Mercedes driver philosophically.

The next Grand Prix is in just under two weeks, in Mexico. There, Hamilton will try to reduce or disappear his twelve-point gap on Verstappen.
