Los Philadelphia Phillies have secured their spot in the MLB postseason after a resounding 12-2 victory over the New York Mets, thus guaranteeing their third consecutive appearance in the playoffs.
With a 92-62 record, the Phillies became the fifth team to earn a spot in the 2024 season, joining the Yankees, Guardians, Brewers and Dodgers in the hunt for the World Series title.
The Phillies’ team has shown a solid level both in pitching and offense, which has allowed them to consolidate themselves at the top of the National League East Division. Now, with the pass secured, their objective is clear: to win the division title, something they have not achieved since 2011.

Phillies: In search of the top spot in the Eastern Division
With one more win this weekend in their visit to Citi Field against the Mets, they could secure that precious title that has eluded them for more than a decade.
This would be the ideal end to a season in which the Phillies have proven to be one of the most consistent teams in the National League. The explosive offense, led by names like Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber, has been a key factor in their success, while the pitching, led by Zack Wheeler, has kept their opponents under control.

Other teams that have already secured their place in the playoffs
Along with the Phillies, other MLB teams have already secured their presence in the postseason. In the American League, the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians lead their respective divisions. The Yankees, with a record of 89-64, dominate the East, while the Guardians, with a record of 89-65, are the best in the Central Division.

In the National League, the Milwaukee Brewers were the first to secure the division title in the Central, with a record of 88-65. The Los Angeles Dodgers, with Shohei Ohtani as their star, also achieved their qualification, registering a record of 91-62.
The battle for playoff spots will continue to be a topic of conversation, so each franchise must have a clear focus to stay alive in this adventure: arrive in top form to the final phase of the tournament.
