Not two out of two for Jasper Philipsen. Our compatriot crashed in the sprint of the third stage of Tirreno-Adriatico. Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain-Victorious) ultimately proved to be the strongest of the pack in the increasing final meters, ahead of Jonathan Milan. Juan Ayuso’s leadership position was not in danger.
Philipsen was a little too far entering the last corner and wanted to make up some places. However, it became a little too busy for him, causing him to lose control and slide against the boards. The Limburger quickly got back on his bike to ride towards the finish.
On Thursday the riders will cover 207 km between Arrone and Giulianova. The fast men then seem to be up for action again, although there is a difficult climb in the first part of the course. The 59th Tirreno-Adriatico ends on Sunday.
