the defender Philippe Sampaiodo Botafogo, must remain hospitalized until Saturday (18) for a battery of medical tests after suffering an atraumatic syncope in the game against Vasco this Thursday, in Maracanã. The information was provided by journalist Joana de Assis, during the program “Redação SporTV”.
According to the reporter, Botafogo turned on the alert for heart issues, since in high-performance athletes 40% of atraumatic syncopes are related to heart problems. The intention is to investigate everything until the chance is ruled out.
Philipe Sampaio was unconscious for about 30 seconds on the lawn, but he walked to the ambulance and is conscious at the moment.
In addition to heart tests, doctors will also do blood tests to look for an electrocyte deficit and also a head CT scan. Botafogo’s medical team is following the situation closely.
