A few weeks ago, 44-year-old Carolina Kuek, better known to the public under the pseudonym Ani Lorak, got into a huge scandal. A statement was filed against the singer of the hit “The Sun” to law enforcement agencies for allegedly transferring money to the needs of the Ukrainian army. Even before the check was completed, many Russian stars stood up for Kuek. Now it has become known why this happened: the fact is that Caroline has a very influential patron.
We are talking about Philip Kirkorov, with whom the Ukrainian singer has been friends for many years. According to Kuek herself, the performer of the hit “My Bunny” in many ways replaced her brother, who had departed to a better world. A native of the Chernivtsi region told her dramatic story in the next episode of the “Once Upon a Time” program on NTV, making the audience cry.
The childhood of the future star was difficult. Caroline’s parents divorced when she was still a baby. Kuek’s mother, who was raising three offspring alone, at some point could not stand it and sent them all to a boarding school. Her elder brother Sergei took care of the girl. When he died, the Ukrainian woman could not come to her senses for a long time. But in 2008, Kuek met Kirkorov. They immediately developed a special connection. Then Caroline decided that a deceased relative had returned to her in the person of Philip.
“Our friendship is already 15 years old. But the friendship, as it began with Eurovision, continues to this day. This is already my relative. I think that Philip, to some extent, replaced my brother. Because he is always with me, no matter what happens, I know that even if I call at night, he will come to the rescue,” the performer confessed on NTV.
