For having lowered his mask too much, Doc Rivers, the coach of the Philadelphia Sixers, was fined 10,000 dollars from the NBA.

In the NBA, we are not joking with the health protocol in force, in this period of the coronavirus pandemic, which still continues to prevail today throughout the world. Doc Rivers was able to realize this himself. Indeed, the current coach of the Philadelphia Sixers, now 59 years old, has just been fined 10,000 dollars (or about 8,155 euros), from the prestigious League of basketball. The former Los Angeles Clippers coach, who remained in office from 2013 to 2020, has been criticized for having, quite simply, lowered his mask too much. A mania that would have become a habit among the main interested, since the start of the brand new NBA regular season, on December 22, when in full meeting, he then addresses his players or even the referees. However, the wearing of the mask is indeed supposed to be obligatory during all the contested matches.

Rivers: “I was not exemplary! “

By this sanction, the prestigious Basketball League obviously intends to prove that it does not intend to joke or be lax with respect to the respect of its famous protocol as well as by the health crisis, still in force today. This Monday night, as part of the NBA regular season, the Philadelphia Sixers beat the Charlotte Hornets (118-101). At the end of this meeting, played at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Doc Rivers answered questions from the local media. In a video shared by his franchise itself, the Sixers coach returned to this sanction. In a joking tone, he notably declared on this subject: “I was not exemplary! I have at least three people on the bench who have to remind me, about twenty times per game, that I have to put my mask back on. Because the players can’t hear me with it, so I turn it down to talk to them and forget to put it back on. “
