A 200-foot dragon has been spotted in Philadelphia’s Franklin Square.
Don’t worry. The massive snake stretches out as one of the most amazing sights at this year’s Chinese Lantern Festival. The festival, held at 6th and Race Street, runs through August 31.
The Chinese Lantern Festival exists as one of the largest celebrations of the Chinese New Year, continuing a tradition that began about 2,000 years ago, when people would light decorated lanterns on the 15th day of the first lunar month of the Chinese calendar.
