Philadelphia beats Washington 26-18 and extends its lead in the East division

Philadelphia. Saquon Barkley rushed for 146 yards and shone in the fourth quarter with two touchdowns, and the Philadelphia Eagles extended their lead in the Eastern Division of the National Conference by beating the Washington Commanders 26-18 this Thursday.

Jalen Hurts scored the go-ahead touchdown on a run after being evaluated for a concussion to take the game against Jayden Daniels.

The Águilas (8-2) achieved their sixth victory since their break, although this one came with a big scare.

Hurts hit the turf after being tackled by linebacker Frankie Luvu in the second quarter. The $255 million quarterback’s head bounced off the ground.

The quarterback turned around, landed on his face, and grabbed his helmet. He was examined under the fieldside medical tent, but stayed in the game and finished with 221 passing yards.

Philadelphia led 12-10 in the fourth quarter, when Washington was within reach of a field goal to give them the lead. But coach Dan Quinn decided to take a chance on fourth down.

Daniels attempted to advance, but was stopped for no gain. Less than three minutes later, Barkley scored on a 23-yard run.

Jake Elliott converted the extra point after missing his previous attempt, along with two of his four field goal attempts, to give the Eagles a two-score lead.

Daniels, who completed 22 of 32 passes for 191 yards and a late touchdown pass, had a pass intercepted by safety Reed Blankenship on Washington’s next play.

Twelve seconds later, Barkley finished off the Commanders (7-4) with a 39-yard run to the goal zone.

Washington came in with a chance to take first place in the division but left with its second straight loss.
