Philadelphia played its second game against New York without Joel Embiid. The cast of Doc Rivers had passed the first test against San Antonio. The story was very different in the duel with those of the Big Apple, since the owner of the house went to rest at a disadvantage.
Those led by Tom Thibodeau had played the night before in Brooklyn. Anyway, they showed that he had energy left to compete against the leader of the East. Julius Randle (19 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists), Alec Burks (19 (three triples), four and two) and RJ Barrett (17, eight and four) led the offenses of the visit. Also, Immanuel Quickley (13) continued to contribute in his second game in a row as a starter.
The whole of Pennsylvania had to react in the second half. And he did it through the notable contributions on both sides of Tobias Harris. The power forward converted 17 of his 30 points in the final 24 minutes. In addition, he complemented it with four hits behind the goal, six boards, two goal passes and two steals. And as if this were not enough, he stopped Julius Randle’s layup attempt on one of the decisive plays of the confrontation.
Also, Seth Curry was very effective with the executions to help with the flurry from 26 to 14 in the last episode. The guard finished with 20 points (4-7 in outside shots), three rebounds and two assists. Meanwhile, Ben Simmons (16, 13 and seven) again displayed his virtues to counteract the loss of the Cameroonian pivot. With this result, the Sixers accumulated six celebrations in a row and remained at the top of the Conference with a 28-12 record.
