Head of Xbox Phil Spencer in conversation with IGN acknowledged that last year for the console turned out to be not the most impressive, even by modest standards. In fact, no major titles were released then, which is partly due to the postponement of Starfield from November to 2023, but there is no exact date yet.
Our commitment to the fans should be reflected in a steady release schedule of great games to play on our platform.
We haven’t done enough in 2022, that’s for sure. And it’s my fault. I am the head of the business.
I take the regular release of major titles very seriously, as do our teams, and there were not enough of them in 2022. Therefore, we are looking forward to the launches of 2023.
Spencer did not reveal exact dates, nor did he say if there will be any other surprise releases this year, or if Redfall, Starfield and the new Forza will be the main blockbusters.
Hi-Fi rhythm action Rush was suddenly announced and released on Xbox and PC earlier, so there may be other surprises.
