Xbox Phil Spencer has backed the initiative as Sony’s renowned Game Pass challenger as he believes it is the right answer to let customers play what they want, where they want.
Recently, it began to be rumored that Sony is preparing for the launch of its own Game Pass-like service for PC. This after the company started to move more towards the platform with launches such as God of War. Xbox leader Phil Spencer is in favor of more such services coming to PC and sees it as “the right answer”.
In an interview with IGN Spencer mentions how he is very pleased with what the Xbox is doing with the Game Pass. That the initiative allows them to launch game titles on both PC and console at the same time and allows players to enjoy the games they want to play on the platform that suits the individual best. Although he does not think the Xbox has managed to think of just about anything with its platform.
In the interview, he is also asked what he thinks about Sony’s renowned Game Pass challenger. To this place he seems very positive and thinks that it feels like a logical move and the right answer. He does not see it as confirmation that Xbox features are the only right thing to do. Instead, he welcomes further competition in the market to increase competition and ultimately development.
How Sony can actually challenge Game Pass with its own similar service remains to be seen. In any case, Phil Spencer welcomes more players to try to get a piece of the pie to drive the market forward.
