Phil Spencer Discusses Potential Exclusivity for Elder Scrolls VI and Microsoft’s Gaming Strategy

In an interview for the agency Bloomberg was Phil SpencerXbox boss, asked about potential exclusivity in line with Bethesda’s next big game after Starfield – The Elder Scrolls VI. It wasn’t the first time he answered a similar question, and we didn’t get an exact answer this time either.

“We look at it on a case-by-case basis. We want to make sure that our games are available in many different places – on our Xbox consoles, on PC, also through the cloud, these games can go to almost any device with access to the Internet,” Spencer points to Microsoft’s goal to get games on as many screens as possible.

“We’re talking about millions and millions of players who will have access to Starfield and other games from Xbox Game Studios. It’s really about allowing players to choose how they want to play…” explains the head of Microsoft’s gaming division. “[Elder Scrolls 6] it’s so far away that it’s hard to predict what the platforms will even be like… We’re talking about a game that’s more than five years away,” he previously told the magazine Axios.

In earlier statements, both the vice president of Bethesda indirectly opposed the exclusivity Pete Hinesyes, the producer Todd Howard. But the latter praises the decision not to release the game for PlayStation with the release of Starfield. It was supposed to allow the developers to make a better product.
