Phil Spencer criticizes Sony’s strategy for PCs saying it’s late and they charge twice

Xbox boss Phil Spencer criticized Sony’s PC strategy. Speaking at a briefing to media and analysts this week (via VGC), the executive criticized “others” who bring console games to the PC, saying they were releasing PC versions “years later” and “charging [os jogadores] a second time.”

For several years, Microsoft released its Xbox Games Studios titles on the same day for both PC and Xbox. In comparison, Sony released its first PC port, Horizon Zero Dawn, last year – three years after its PS4 debut – and the company said it will prioritize consoles (PS4 and PS5) for launching your games.

“So at the moment, we’re the only platform that releases console, PC and cloud games simultaneously,” Spencer said at the presentation. “Others bring games from the console to the PC years later, not just making people buy their hardware in advance, but charging them a second time to play on the PC. And of course all our games are on our subscription service on the first day, full cross-platform included.”
