Manchester –
Phil Jones will pull out of Manchester United at the end of the season. Manager Erik ten Hag admits he’s only seen him train for about 20 minutes this season.
Jones will leave United at the end of the season. His contract, which was about to expire, was not renewed.
This season, Jones has not played at all for MU. Although his name was included in Erik ten Hag’s squad, the manager who just joined, Jones could not be played due to his physical condition.
Ten Hag claimed to have seen him train when he first arrived. The Dutch manager said he only saw the English defender train on the pitch Manchester United for 20 minutes.
“Yeah, 20 minutes, in the first practice of the year,” said Erik ten Hagreported by the Daily Mail.
“He’s had a great career, he’s achieved great results. Won the Premier League, FA Cup, Europa League, played in two World Cups.”
“What a career at MU. His career must be praised,” said Ten Hag.
Phil Jones was brought in by MU from Blackburn Rovers in 2011. He became one of the legacy players from the Sir Alex Ferguson era.
Together with the Red Devils, the 31-year-old player has a record of 229 appearances, 6 goals, and won five trophies, including the Premier League title which was won by MU.
Performa Phil Jones began to fade the last four seasons. Injuries forced him to be absent and sidelined a lot, until he finally left Manchester United end of the season.
