Recent statements by Scottie Pippen made a lot of noise. Particularly those where he asserts without trembling that Phil Jackson was and still is a racist. Some former Zen Master players had to step up to defend their former coach. Shaquille O’Neal brought up the topic this week on FanSided.
“I don’t want to get involved in the confusion between people, but I can tell you that Phil Jackson is clearly not a racist.”
And Shaq has a theory on Pippen’s recent frenzy to swing right and left.
“He’s putting out a new drink and a new book. Maybe this is all marketing.”

For the joke, Shaq still gave Scottie Pippen some common sense on what he had said about Charles Barkley, with whom he had worked for a while in Houston. As a reminder, here’s what Pippen said about Barkley:
“He only got arrested because he threw little white dudes out the window. I never saw him fight a black man when there were no referees around him. pretend he’s a tough guy, but I don’t know anyone whose ass he kicks. “
