Pep Guardiola, Manchester City’s coach, praised his star Phil Foden after the 23rd round of the English Premier League match.
Foden alone scored 3 goals, leading Manchester City to beat Brentford 3-1.
Manchester City, which has a postponed match on its score, reduced the gap between it and leaders Liverpool to two points, raising its score to 49 points, on par with Arsenal, third, and with a positive goal difference.
Guardiola said after the final whistle of the match, “I don’t know how many games he has already played for Manchester City, (but) he is a player who is good at playing in various positions.”
He continued, speaking about the owner of shirt number 47, “He is a player who is in the middle of the goal, and likes to move a lot around the 18-yard box.”
He stressed in brief statements reported by the Favel Sports website, “I think he is having his best season since we started working together,” referring to 2016.
Guardiola specifically praised the way Foden scored the equalizer for Manchester City, and then the goal that completed his personal hat-trick.
The Spanish coach stated, “When they (Brentford) defend deep, they are extremely backward, and (finding) spaces becomes very difficult. (This happened in) the first goal in particular, and the third goal as well.”
