On the latest episode of industry insider Jeff Grubb’s Game Mess podcast, he said Sony is saving its biggest announcements for later in 2023, with a PlayStation showcase ahead of E3.
According to Grubb, the showcase was planned as early as fall 2022, but couldn’t take place because the developers weren’t ready to show off their games. Now, since that’s no longer the case, we’ll see Phase 2 of the PS5.
Phase two could include a rumored console revision, as well as a host of new games. As we look to the second half of 2023 for PlayStation, things do look pretty bare aside from the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, so the blue brand will need some heavyweights to fill out its calendar.
