“We must not politicize or privatize the vaccine; “Everyone must have the ease of buying it and wearing it, at the end of the day it is a personally responsible issue, and we do not want to return to that Covid stage,” declared the president of Canaco Chihuahua, Omar Armendáriz.
At the national level, this Wednesday, December 20, pharmacies began selling the Pfizer vaccine, for which no prescription is required and is supplied at the unit, as announced.
The cost ranges from 848 pesos, without a prescription, but so far sales have not started in pharmacies located in Chihuahua.
During the first days of December, the Federal Commission for the Protection against Health Risks (Cofepris) authorized the updated Pfizer and Moderna vaccines against Covid-19 to be sold in pharmacies and authorized establishments in Mexico.
Through a statement, the agency made public that the available versions that will be on sale are Spikevax, from Moderna, and the Comirnaty vaccine, from BioNTech/Pfizer, both for the omicron variant XBB.1.5 of the virus.
Likewise, Cofepris warned that the supply of these biologicals can only be carried out under medical supervision and that they should never be applied indiscriminately.
