It noted in a statement that it “divided the currently available stock of medicines into four categories:

⁃ The third category includes medicines that are dispensed in hospitals, and the stock of them in companies is sufficient for a period ranging between 3 and 4 months. In addition, the Syndicate contacted hospitals to count their stock of this category, and it turned out that it was sufficient for a period ranging between one month and a month and a half. This means that the strategic stock of medicines for this category, which is distributed between importing companies and hospitals, is sufficient for Lebanon for a period ranging between four months and five and a half months. Month.

“The fourth category includes cancer medicines, as their available stock is sufficient for a period ranging between one month and one and a half months.”

She stressed that “all the numbers that are being circulated about the drug stock, unlike the previous ones, are inaccurate numbers,” noting that she “is constantly communicating with manufacturers abroad, in order to secure the arrival of air shipments and increase the strategic stock,” and she said: “As long as there is no A siege on Lebanon, the import movement will remain normal.”

She pointed out that “to date, companies are still able to import shipments and increase their existing strategic stock.”

She pointed out that “cooperation is ongoing with a number of logistical agencies and companies located abroad, so that they will be able, in the event of any blockade on Lebanese ports, to collect all orders from companies importing medicines, and obtain, through the Lebanese government, a special permission from international organizations, to continue.” Importing either by sea from Cyprus, or by air from the United Arab Emirates.

She asked citizens “not to worry and rush to store medicines,” noting that “this matter will create a severe shortage of medicine, and will prevent many patients from securing their medicines, which may plunge Lebanon into the same crisis that it went through in late 2020, due to the storage of a large number of patients.” From Citizens to Medicines.
