After the match Tottenham vs Liverpool, which ended with The Lilywhites winning 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, Saturday (30/9/2023), PGMOL immediately released a statement. They admitted that an error occurred when VAR disallowed Luis Diaz’s goal.
“PGMOL acknowledged that this had happened human error which was significant in the first half of the Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool match. PGMOL will carry out a full review,” wrote a PGMOL statement, reported by Sky Sports.
“Luis Diaz’s goal was disallowed by the officials on the pitch for offside. This was a clear and obvious factual error, and should have resulted in a goal via VAR, but VAR failed to intervene.”
“PGMOL will conduct a full review of the circumstances that led to the error. PGMOL “will contact Liverpool after the match to acknowledge the error,” explained the PGMOL statement.
