PGA Im Seong-jae’Good Shot’ from the first match of the new year

A tie for fifth place until the third round of the Sentry
Leading and 4th shot… 2 wins in career challenge

Im Seong-jae (23) continued his hopes of winning the US Professional Golf (PGA) Tour 2021 on the third day of the first tournament with an eagle putt and three consecutive birdies.

On the 10th (Korean time), Seongjae Lim tied 1 Eagle and 4 Buddy at the 3rd Round of the PGA Tour Sentry Tournament of Champions ($6.7 million in prize money) held at the Kapalua Plantation Course (par 73, 7474 yards) in Maui, Hawaii, USA. I hit an under par 67.

Lim Sung-jae, who recorded 202 strokes in the middle of 17 under par, is tied for fifth with the lead and four strokes. Ryan Palmer (US) and Harris English (US) lead the joint with a middle total of 21 under par 198.

Lim Sung-jae, who finished the first round with a tie for third place, maintained the top position for three days, including a tie for sixth in the second round.

Im Seong-jae made a good start by putting an eagle putt 7m away from the 5th hole (par 5). However, since the 8th hole (par 3) was compensated with a 9th hole (par 5) birdie, the number of strokes to the 13th hole could not be further reduced, and the trend could not continue.

Im Seong-jae succeeded in rebounding. He raised the ranks again by catching a birdie on the 14th hole (par 4), the 15th hole (par 5) and the 16th hole (par 4). In addition, he finished the 18th hole (par 5) with a birdie and placed his name in the top five.

This competition is a’wangjungwangjeon’ in which only the winners of the previous year’s PGA Tour competition participated. However, as the tour last year was reduced due to the aftermath of Corona 19, this year’s tournament invited a total of 42 people, including the 2019-2020 season tour championship participants.

Lim Sung-jae participated in this competition as a Honda Classic winner in March last year, before the tour was stopped due to Corona 19. Lim Seong-jae aims for a career win of two in this tournament.
