Pforzheim specialist broker buys | procontra

The Pforzheim-based specialist broker Ease (formerly “E+H Einzmann and Hanselmann”) is taking over Helvengo GmbH, the Munich subsidiary of the Swiss insurance start-up Helvengo AG. Both companies have already worked together in the past and developed IoT-based building insurance solutions for multi-family homes. Tap water sensors are an integral part of the insurance product.

By merging insurance and technology, Ease and Helvengo want to help their customers remain insurable at attractive conditions despite the worsening situation on the insurance market. The acquisition is intended to leverage synergies and further expand data-driven IoT products.

The reason for the sale of Helvengo GmbH is probably that the Swiss parent company is now in liquidation. This is reported by Swiss media, citing an entry in the Swiss Commercial Gazette.

Canada Life sharpens

Canada Life has added additional basic skills to its premium basic skills protection: In addition to smartphone/keyboard use, the ability to use public transport and ride a bike can now also be insured. Infection-related downtime and impairments of four organs (heart, liver, lungs, kidneys) will also be covered in the future.

According to the insurer, BU insurance has also been revised and now includes shorter query periods for health questions and no longer has an age limit.
