Bourla points out that people have grown tired of all measures to limit the spread of the virus, while ‘politicians want to claim victory’. He also notes a low willingness to take an extra shot. In combination with the declining immunity, he believes this will probably cause a sustained wave of corona variants and deaths.

Bourla made his statements in the FT at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where Pfizer announced it would supply its drugs and vaccines at cost to 45 low-income countries.
