Kiev region received 1170 doses of vaccine from Pfizer

More than 200 employees and residents of two psycho-neurological boarding schools in the Kiev region will receive vaccinations.
The Kiev region was the first in Ukraine to start a vaccination campaign against the coronavirus COVID-19 with the drug Comirnaty, produced by Pfizer and BioNTech. About it informs press service of the Kiev Regional State Administration on Sunday, April 18.
“Yesterday our region received the first 1170 doses of vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech, and today we have already started using it. It is intended primarily for workers and residents of nursing homes. – said the head of the region Vasily Volodin.
Today, two specialized institutions of the Kiev region will join the vaccination campaign. 78 employees and 42 residents of the Borodyansky neuropsychiatric boarding school will receive vaccinations, followed by 84 employees and 12 residents of the Bila Tserkva neuropsychiatric boarding school.
It is indicated that in parallel in the Kiev region, as part of the immunization campaign, the Chinese vaccine CoronaVac is also used. It is designed to vaccinate people with limited mobility and their guardians, educators who will be involved in the conduct of the UPE, as well as other categories.
We will remind, on April 16 to Ukraine the first batch of Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine arrived… 117 thousand doses of the drug were received as part of the global COVAX mechanism.
This is the third COVID vaccine in Ukraine. This week immunization with CoronaVac started Chinese company Sinovac Biotech. And since February 24, Ukrainians are vaccinated with Indian Covishield, which is produced under the license of AstraZeneca.
