Pfizer’s Corona 19 vaccine to be vaccinated this Saturday.
It was concluded at a meeting of the government advisory group that 16 and 17 can be beaten.
The prevention effect is 95% and there is no major problem in safety.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety is in the process of approving the item, and a verification advisory group composed of experts has determined that vaccination is possible even at the age of 16 and 17.
The clinical trial was designed for over 16 years of age, confirming its effectiveness and stability, and the immune response was not different from that of adults.
It was also taken into account that many countries, such as the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom, were granted permission to be over 16 years old.
Our government only plans vaccinations for those 18 years of age or older, but it could be different if the Pfizer vaccine is approved for those over 16.

“Probably, this part of the KCDC will be referred to or used when making (establishing) an implementation plan in consideration of the approval of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.”
The preventive effect of the Pfizer vaccine was sufficient, showing 95.1% of clinical results in 43,000 people in 6 countries including the United States.
In particular, it was more than 94% effective for those over 65 and those with underlying diseases.
For this reason, the government said that if the results of clinical trials for AstraZeneca vaccine are delayed, older people can get Pfizer vaccine first.
The safety was also judged to be acceptable.
After vaccination, local reactions such as pain and swelling and systemic reactions such as fatigue and headache were reported, but they were mild, and’anaphylaxis’, an acute hypersensitivity reaction, was not reported.
However, in the United States, 11 out of 1 million people have anaphylaxis.
The advisory group also recommended that people who have been overreacted after receiving the vaccine in the past need careful monitoring after vaccination.
The government also predicted that when vaccination started in earnest, confidence would increase and some distrust about the vaccine would decrease.

“When it is confirmed that it is safe, many people will be able to increase their confidence in the vaccination (I think). We recommend that you take the vaccination on time when your order comes.”
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety is scheduled to discuss the matters related to the Pfizer vaccine approval again at the Central Pharmacy Review Committee on the 25th.
