“I really want to take off my mask. I want to travel abroad.”
Today (27th), when Pfizer vaccination was first started, Jung Mi-kyung, 51, who received this vaccine for the first time at the Central Medical Center said, “I feel more comfortable. I hope everything is correct, and I hope that Corona 19 will disappear soon.” I said.
Jung is a member of the National Medical Center facility team and works as a beauty salon in the corona19 patient ward.
He explained, “I was a little nervous when I was hit, but at the moment I was hit, I didn’t feel like’this is an injection’,” he explained. “Rather, it was less painful than a normal intramuscular injection.”
The Pfizer vaccination, which started at the Central Vaccination Center of the Central Medical Center at 9 am today, went smoothly throughout the morning.
Oh Dong-jin, a member of the Radiology Department of the Central Medical Center, who came to receive the vaccination, told reporters, “I have been taking CT (Computed Tomography) or X-rays of a patient with Corona 19 since last year, and I always wore protective clothing.” I said yes. Everyone around me wants to get hit quickly.”
Today’s vaccination targets total 300 people, including 199 people at the Central Medical Center and 101 people at the hospital for treating COVID-19 patients in the metropolitan area.
Joanna (36), a nurse at the Central Medical Center, who has been in charge of nursing critically ill patients for Corona 19 for the past year, said, “After getting the vaccine, I am more reassuring. I will care for critically ill patients until the end of Corona 19.”
Son Hong-seok, 28, a nurse who cares for a critically ill patient with Corona 19 at the same hospital, also received the vaccination and said, “I was nervous about Corona 19, and I can relieve my worries with the vaccination.”
He added, “I hope that the corona 19 vaccination will form a collective immunity and help to end Corona 19.”
Both nurses agreed that they did not notice any difference when they received the Pfizer vaccine compared to those who received the influenza (flu) vaccine.
Myung-don Oh, head of the Central Vaccination Center, said, “The most important thing for Pfizer vaccine is (storage) temperature, and you have to keep this condition within a set period of time until vaccination. I have practiced a lot of cold chain maintenance through more than 5 exercises so far, I went through the same process as the practice for the vaccination.”
Choi Na-young, a nurse at the Central Medical Center who gave the inoculations today, said, “The syringe (for Corona 19 vaccine) seems to be less airy, and it is smooth to enter.”
“In the future, medical response will become possible in a safer situation,” said Oh, and said, “(In this sense) today is an important day that took the first step back to normal life.”
He added, “There seems to be a lot of anxiety about which of the AstraZeneca vaccines and Pfizer vaccines, which are currently being vaccinated in Korea, is better or safer,” he said. “Academicly, any vaccine has proven its safety and preventive effect. I hope you get the vaccination when the order comes.”
