The Delta variant of COVID-19 is now the cause of problems in various countries. Corona Vaccine made by Pfizer claimed to be 88% effective against it.
This is the result of the latest research as reported by the New York Post, Saturday (24/7/2021). The CDC says people who receive 2 doses of the Corona vaccine from Pfizer will be 88% protected from the Delta variant. Thus the results of research publications in the New England Journal of Medicine.
The Delta variant now dominates in the United States, according to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). As many as 83.2% of new Corona cases in America are the Delta variant.
Research sponsored by the British Public Health Agency reveals a single injection Corona vaccine Pfizer provides 30% protection against the Delta variant. But after the second injection, there was up to 88% protection against the Delta variant.
Previously, the Pfizer vaccine was declared 94% effective against the Alpha variant. Scientists say the 88% against the Delta variant means the vaccine is still working.
“These findings will support efforts to maximize the vaccine to two doses among susceptible populations,” the UK’s Public Health Service said.
As a comparison, this research also mentions the results of Corona vaccine made by AstraZeneca against the Delta variant. 2 Injections AstraZeneca 67% effective against the Delta variant and 74.5% effective against the Alpha variant.
