Pfizer, Coronary Vaccine | Recent Israeli report: The effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine is plummeting

Protection against Covid-19 after vaccination or infection

Although coronavina vaccine provides a high degree of protection against covid-19 already 3 weeks after the first dose, two doses are needed for the best possible effect and duration. Vaccine also helps to limit the spread of infection. We do not yet know for sure how long the protection will last. So far it has been shown that the protection lasts for at least half a year, but probably lasts much longer – there will be more knowledge about it eventually.

Similarly, we know that it is very rare for someone to get the disease again in the first months after undergoing covid-19. For the best possible effect and duration of protection, those who have undergone the infection are recommended to take a vaccine dose.

Nevertheless, neither the infection nor the vaccine reviewed provides any guarantee against covid-19 or against being able to spread the infection further. Therefore, vaccinated people must also follow the infection control advice that applies at all times and get tested if you get symptoms that can fit with covid-19. The few who get covid-19 despite being vaccinated or having undergone the disease will usually have a mild course or no symptoms. Vaccinated people must still be in isolation, and their close contacts must be quarantined, as in normal infection detection.

Who is considered fully vaccinated and protected, and what do we mean by risk group?

Those who are considered “fully vaccinated” are:

Those who have received a second dose of vaccine. Status as fully vaccinated applies from 1 week after the second vaccine dose.

Those who have undergone illness and at least 3 weeks later have received a dose of vaccine. Status as fully vaccinated applies from 1 week after the vaccine dose.

Those who have been vaccinated with a single-dose vaccine, with effect from 3 weeks after vaccination

Those who received the first dose of vaccine and then, at least 3 weeks later, were diagnosed with covid-19 infection. Status as fully vaccinated applies from the time you are out of isolation.

If the protection should decrease over time, the advice may change. This may lead to advice on a refresher vaccine.

Those who are considered “protected” are:

Those who are fully vaccinated (see above).

Those who have received the 1st vaccine dose. Status as protected applies from 3 to 15 weeks after the vaccine dose. This means that the second dose must be set no later than 14 weeks after the first dose in order to maintain a protected status until you are considered fully vaccinated.

Those who have undergone infection. Status as protected is valid for 6 months after the positive test.

The definitions related to vaccines apply to those who have received vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). All vaccines given in Norway are approved by the EMA.

Those who are covered by the term “risk group” are:

Persons 65 years or older

People from the age of 18 with certain defined diseases / conditions that increase the risk of serious disease and death from covid-19 (medical risk groups).

What advice applies at home?

In private homes and in the car, protected persons can have close social contact (less than 1 meter) with other protected persons even if they are in the risk group.

Protected persons may have close social contact with unprotected persons who are not in the risk group.

Protected persons should still keep a good distance (at least 1 meter) from the unprotected in the risk group with whom they do not live.

Protected persons can be treated as household members and do not need to be counted as visitors. Unprotected visitors must still keep their distance from other unprotected

If you live in a municipality that has regulations on how many people can visit private homes, you must stick to it.

What advice and rules apply among people?

Protected persons are no longer advised against making unnecessary journeys in Norway. But on the journey, the general advice is to keep your distance and wear a face mask.

Out among the people (in the public space, including public transport) there are unchanged advice and rules. This applies, for example, to advice and rules on distance, number, hygiene and the use of face masks.

What quarantine rules apply to those who are considered protected?

There are different types of quarantine:

Entry quarantine – after being abroad

Infection quarantine – after close contact with a corona-infected person

The waiting quarantine – temporary quarantine for people who live with someone who is in the quarantine of infection. Goods to the person in quarantine infection have tested negative or the person in quarantine quarantine has tested negative.
