Pfizer CEO Discredited: Sold Series Of Shares On Day Th …

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla sold $ 5.6 million worth of stock on the day the company announced the good results of its corona vaccine candidate.

According to a document filed with the US financial markets regulator, the SEC, Bourla sold 132,508 $ 41.94 securities on Wall Street for the equivalent of nearly $ 5.6 million. Vice President Sally Susman also sold shares for $ 1.8 million.

On Monday, the Pfizer stock jumped 7.7 percent after the company announced that its corona vaccine is 90 percent effective in preventing infection, according to preliminary research results. The company tested the vaccine, which was developed in collaboration with German biotechnologist BioNTech, on subjects and says there were no significant safety concerns.

Pfizer declined to respond to inquiries AFP about the sale of shares. A spokesman stated CNN that the transactions are part of a periodic divestment plan. That Bourla and Susman would sell their shares at that price is said to have already been agreed in August 2019 as part of their personal financial management.
