In real world conditions, messenger RNA vaccines (Pfizer and Modern) were able not only to prevent the serious course from Covid-19 and related deaths, but also to reduce transmission by 90 percent of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Basically they have contagiousness almost eliminated of the virus.

Good efficacy even after one dose
the very encouraging conclusion to which I came a study by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) carried out among healthcare workers, first responders and other essential and frontline workers at eight locations across the United States between December 2020 and March 2021. 3,950 people were tested 14 days after the second dose of vaccine, when the effect was deemed to be complete , and the prevention against Covid was 90%, regardless of symptoms. Even after the first dose, transmission was greatly reduced, by about 80%. It follows that the transmission of the virus between people vaccinated with type RNA extremely unlikely even in contexts (such as those of the study) at high risk of exposure to the virus.

Against the variants
It was also feared that the variants could make vaccines less effective. The study results don’t confirm that fear. Disturbing variants were circulating during the study period yet vaccines still provided potent protection. The US vaccinated 15.63% of the population completely with Moderna or Pfizer and 28.36% of the population with at least one dose. The infections have dropped a lot in the country even if there are pockets of resistance in states where it seems that more transmissible variants of the virus circulate.
