Peugeot has a new lion in the stable. Surprisingly, the lively e-408 did not copy from its brother – Garáž.cz

You knew that Peugeot 408 already introduced in June 2022? The model with a fastback body type gave a new, attractive look and now, after more than two years, it appears in a completely new version. Completely electric.

The EMP2 car platform is multi-fuel, which is why this electric car with dimensions of 469 x 185 x 149 cm and a wheelbase of 279 cm also stands on it. The traction battery can be found in the floor, which lowers the center of gravity of the car. The wheels are then 19 inches and shod ​​​​with low resistance tires 225/50 R19. The electric lion offers five exterior colors as standard, namely white, blue, gray, red and black.

The dashboard offers a familiar i-Cockpit solution focused on the driver. It is controlled by a cutting steering wheel, digital instrument panel and information system display. The car’s software interface already includes ChatGPT artificial intelligence, which we tested as an example HERE.

The trunk offers a volume of 471 liters, just like the plug-in hybrid. The combustion variant has a volume of 536 liters. If you choose Focal Electra premium audio, you will lose a few liters of volume.

An important element of the innovation is the electric motor made in France itself, which offers 210 hp and 345 Nm, while the device is connected. Peugeot e-308 only 156 hp and 270 Nm.

The fastback e-408’s traction battery has a usable capacity of 58.2 kWh (in the leaflets it says 60 kWh), which is 7.2 kWh more than in the e-308. Typical consumption is 15.2 kWh per hundred and a range of up to 453 km (the e-308 offers up to 416 km) per charge.

On a slow AC charger, the technology on board can transfer a power of no more than 11 kW, so you will charge from zero to a hundred in about five hours and a bit. At DC fast charging stations, the capacity is charged from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes.

The new Peugeot e-408 is available in two trim levels. The first one, called Allure, brings, for example, LED lamps, 19-inch disc, online navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto mirror, heated driver’s seat, heated steering wheel, rear parking sensors or heat pump.

The second GT equipment complements the previous level with, for example, headlights with Matrix technologyfront parking sensors, ambient lighting, electric fifth door or level two semi-autonomous driving.

Peugeot e-408 starts from 1,050,000 CZK, respectively from 1,140,000 CZK in higher equipment. If we look at the price list of the e-308 model, it starts from CZK 957,000, or from CZK 1,035,000 in higher equipment. The factory warranty is 5 years or 60,000 km, and the battery has an 8 year or 160,000 km warranty.
