FIRST SIGHTINGS – As the photos of CarScoops road tests of the new are in progress Peugeot 4008the medium-large crossover (it could have a length of about 470-480 cm) which will be placed in the range of the French manufacturer between the 3008 and the 508. The 4008 will be a crossoverin this case a halfway between a five-door sedan and an SUV.
A RUNNING CROSSOVER – From the spy photos, and despite the camouflages, you can see the proportions of the Peugeot 4008, which appear taut and streamlined, but with a body raised off the ground as is fashionable today. The large distance between the front and rear wheels suggests that the French company wanted to give priority to the space on board for passengers. The sloping tail almost certainly hides a convenient tailgate for loading luggage, while the high waistline should give the car a certain oomph.
> This is what the Peugeot 4008 could look like, above in a drawing by CarScoops.
SURE THE HYBRID PLUG-IN – The new Peugeot 4008 should share the skeleton with the Citroen C5X which makes use of the latest version of the EMP2 platform of the Stellantis group. As for the engines it will be necessary to see the 4008 follow the path of the CX5, which does not include diesels. Certainly the presence of an engine ibrida plug-in with about 224 hp front-wheel drive, which could be flanked by an even more powerful 302 hp with all-wheel drive (with a second electric motor at the rear). Then there should be the classic 3-cylinder 1.2 petrol with 131 HP and perhaps also the 4-cylinder 1.6 petrol with 181 HP.
MAYBE ALSO ELECTRIC – In the future, like the “cousins” Peugeot 308 and Opel Astra, also the Peugeot 4008 it could be proposed in a variant completely electricwhich could be equipped with a 54 kWh battery.
