The Peugeot 3008 enters the Czech market with a new mild-hybrid engine, which can be ordered in all trims.
The Peugeot car manufacturer continues to electrify its models, which should be significantly helped by the new mild-hybrid 48V Peugeot Hybrid 48V drive unit, which is supposed to gradually replace the pure combustion unit 1.2 PureTech 130 EAT8. The new mild-hybrid premiered at the beginning of the year in the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 models, which we have already taken for a ride. It is now entering the Czech market in both models.
At the outset, let us remind you that the basis of the new mild-hybrid is the new generation of the 1.2 PureTech turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, which was developed for optimal cooperation with hybridization. The engine, working with the Miller cycle, is equipped with a turbocharger with variable blade geometry and offers a maximum output of 100 kW (136 hp) and 230 Nm of torque.
It is connected to the new six-speed dual-clutch gearbox e-DSC6, which integrates a synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets, a converter and a control unit. The electric motor offers a peak power of 21 kW and 55 Nm of torque, it draws energy from a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 432 Wh, which, thanks to its location under the passenger seat, does not take up space in the luggage compartment.
According to the automaker, the new mild-hybrid should provide up to 15% savings in CO2 emissions and reduce average consumption by roughly 1 liter per 100 kilometers. In addition, with a sufficiently charged battery, the hybrid will allow 100% electric driving at low speeds, i.e. for example in a queue or when parking.
The new Hybrid 136 e-DCS6 engine is available in all trim levels of the Peugeot 3008 model, with the basic Active Pack starting at a price of CZK 790,500. The basic Peugeot 3008 offers LED headlights, 17″ aluminum wheels, a 12.3″ i-Cockpit, a multimedia system with an 8″ display, hands-free starting, a height-adjustable driver’s seat and much more.
The higher equipment Allure Pack pushes the price tag to 841,500 CZK, while in the highest equipment GT this motorization already costs 922,250 CZK. There were no significant changes in the other engines. The PureTech 130 S&S EAT8 engine or the BlueHDi 130 S&S EAT8 diesel engine remain in the offer.
