(ANSA) – VENICE, APRIL 24 – The Iuav University of Venice has approved a new regulation that allows the presence of pets within its premises. With this initiative, the university recognizes the positive potential of the presence of pets in the workplace and in academic spaces, attested by numerous scientific studies which demonstrate how the company of animals can help reduce stress, increase productivity and stimulate creativity. , promote socialization and generate empathy between people. The initiative is part of a broader framework of activities and experiments for the well-being of the Iuav community, including the creation of new study areas, refreshment areas, book crossings, green spaces, promoted by the rector Benno Albrecht with the multi-year renewal plan of the locations. Dogs and cats are ordinarily allowed inside the offices, premises and external spaces of the Iuav, with some limitations, such as in shared offices, where the explicit consent of all occupants is required. However, they are excluded in desks, classrooms, library spaces and university spaces where events, demonstrations or ceremonies are held. The limitations do not apply to guide dogs for the blind, assistance dogs for people with disabilities and alert dogs, to which free access is guaranteed. (HANDLE).
