The Animal Protection Association (APA) in Nuevo Laredo requests help from the community to keep cool and alleviate the heat wave for the pets housed.
The Animal Protection Association is a civil association that was founded to support hundreds of canines and felines in need of care with the main objective of providing medical care, reproductive control with their spay or neuter surgery, vaccination programs, as well as nutrition. and, if necessary, giving the animal a place to live.
Gina Ferrara Theriot, founder of APA, says that they usually have space for 400 pets, however, for now they keep 250 to 300. But, through the association’s Facebook page, a call was made to the community to request help and maintain the well-being of pets due to the intense hot climate that occurs in the city.
“The areas are spacious, clean and they are not crowded, but the heat is unbearable … Who can donate a fan to us? … Please appeal to your good hearts and invite you to come to the shelter so that you can see them with their fans… please think of our refugees, ”says the Facebook page.
Ferrara says that the fans will be used for areas where pets live and will be placed on the ceilings to move the air and not feel much heat.
So far, 5 fans have been received, however, according to the Facebook publication, up to 15 fans would be used to refresh the almost 300 animals housed.
“The fans were donated by people who are not members of APA, but if more are required, the support is greatly appreciated. Everything is good and is received with pleasure and your good management. With a good heart it is appreciated ”, commented Ferrara.
According to Ferrara, they not only deal with fans, if not more types of household items.
“It requires everything as in any office or home, from hygiene products for the bath of animals, such as human shampoo, stainless steel containers for pets from the dollar store, towels, toilet paper, white sheets, pens, feline and canine pet food, mobile games for cats, sandboxes, sand black cages of all sizes to move dogs and cats. We require a lot … Do not forget us, every donation is good, it is well received. “
