The price of gas has doubled at the moment, as has that of electricity, it is not for nothing that bills have increased dramatically. Let’s be clear: people stay trying to save as much as he can by giving up many little things.
To make matters worse, the price of petrol has recently risen again up to almost €2 with excise duties and increases that are constantly coming and going and that are sending everyone into a tailspin.
Therefore today as today there are really many Italians who nowi give up using their own car preferring public transport and thus sacrificing one’s independence. Others then, if the journeys are not long, go on foot or by bike.
In short, the fact is undeniable that the situation for all Italians has become – to say the least – unsustainable and therefore more and more scoundrels are appearing who try – by implementing various tricks they have devised – in order to try to save money, illegally.
However, it must also be said that well before the price increases this situation had degenerated and even by a lot! Think a few years ago a soldier from Rimini has thwarted a real scam, after it was very suspicious of the behavior of a man stopped at a gas station.
It was a fifty-year-old man who managed to take home 300 liters of petrol for a total of €500. putting in place a scam – which he himself devised – in all respects very, very particular. The man bottled all this petrol with extreme care and with a triumphant look without paying even a cent, by jumping on the petrol pump tube. In practice he did it by exploiting the pressure of the jump on the pipe, trying to squeeze from the pump the drops left over from the previous refill of the other customers who had regularly paid.
Of course to have then quite a loot visited several petrol stations! And that had always gone well for him for the beauty of 5 years until he found the soldier on his way…
The first time dates back to 2009. Then he was framed and investigated, the investigation went on for years. One of the gas station attendants who was defrauded could do nothing but file a complaint against the man, who -finally- after a long time was charged with aggravated theft. The proprietor of that gas station confirmed that the hop method -actually- worksso much so that about 300 liters of fuel disappeared in its refuelling. And – by the way – probably not only the man indicted for having discovered this techniquesince – to tell the truth – there are indeed many people who do. But now the dodger, after stealing from go Go petrol, will be found at shelling out far more than the amount he stole in fuel…
