The measure that reduces the prices of gasoline and diesel fuel comes to an end. This means that there is a real danger of out-of-control increases.
Petrol and diesel prices, the provision that concerned the reduction of costs for citizens on what is the disbursement for refueling is coming to an end. Since last March 21 putting fuel into one’s car or motorbike has resulted in a reduction of 25 cents per liter due to the cut in excise duties plus another 5 cents per liter as regards VAT.
But the prices of gasoline and diesel remained high nonetheless, despite this, remaining on average about € 1.85 per liter for both main types of fuel. And indeed, in some cases, however, people have had to fork out even more than 2 euros per liter.
But now this measure is coming to an end, which initially created protests by AssoPetroli. May 2 is the last day on which excise duty cuts on petrol and diesel prices remain in effect. This won’t be the only trouble that we will have to prepare to face.
