The strong economic difficulties at the beginning of the year for Italians from an economic point of view – with the economic situation of war in Ukraine and the aftermath of the pandemic crisis – seem destined to last throughout 2022. One of the factors of greater instability for families, consumers and companies during the last few months it has concerned the crazy price reached by gasoline and diesel (but also from LPG and methanealthough the audience is lower) between February and March.
The Government intervened in this regard by approving the Energy law decreea measure by which the Prime Minister Mario Draghi and the members of the Executive tried to balance the social imbalances that occurred with the sudden increase in the cost of fuels.

“We tax a part of the excess profits that the manufacturers of raw material are doing thanks to the rise of fuel costsin order to redistribute this money to businesses and families in difficulty ”the premier explained during the press conference to present the decree. The amount allocated was € 4.4 billion more than the 16 billion already prepared in the last 6 months to stem the expensive energy.
In front of the journalists, the Prime Minister – accompanied by the Minister of Labor Daniele Franco and from that of the ecological transition Roberto Cingolani – he also stressed that it was no longer tolerable during a “emergency situation“e you”national security”That would allow the Italian economy to remain at the mercy of possible speculations. A very explicit reference to the unpredictable moves of the Russian president Vladimir Putinwho became a totally unreliable partner afterwards the invasion of Ukraine of 24 February last.
The alarm for the summer and the new bonus: who can request it
After seeing the fuel price return to more tolerable levels, but now the Italians fear for a new rise during the summer. In its latest report released over the weekend, theNational Union of Foreign Motor Vehicle Representatives (Unrae) highlighted some data relating to the price differencefrom the 90s to today, in the aforementioned sector (we are talking about a monster growth of 96%). But above all he has raised the alarm on new possible oscillations of the sector, still highly unstable due to the continuing repercussions of the armed conflict between Kiev and Moscow.
In the meantime, however, the Government tries to protect the Italians again: it now seems certain reconfirmation of economic benefits also for the month of May. There has been no official note yet – the convocation of the cabinetwhich will likely take place on Thursday – but the amount of the new fuel bonus it should be the same as in the previous round, ie 200 euro.
The knot, however, concerns the stalls who will benefit from this extension. In fact, it seems that only one will be included certain category of workers. In fact, to obtain it, it will be necessary to be employees of a company who presented a request for specific discounts to your own supply company and the latter must be authorized by Ministry of Economic Development. To request it will be enough apply to your employer. For the state, however, the bonus will not be provided, since they already have one in their paychecks dedicated refund section to this type of expense.
