Petro urges to “block” Netanyahu for the death of dozens of people during an aid distribution in Gaza

Gustavo Petro, president of Colombia.

MADRID, 29 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, has called on the international community to “block” the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, after the death of a hundred people during the arrival of aid to the Gaza Strip.

«The world must block Netanyahu. “Colombia suspends all purchases of weapons from Israel,” the Colombian president said on his official profile on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter.

Regarding the images of the death of civilians during the aid delivery, Petro has denounced that “more than a hundred Palestinians were murdered by Netanyahu.” “This is called genocide and it reminds us of the Holocaust even if the world powers do not like to recognize it,” she said.

The authorities of the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), have reported more than a hundred deaths due to the attack carried out by Israel against a group of people waiting to receive food in Gaza City, in the north of the enclave.

For its part, the Israeli Army has stated that most of the victims of the incident were caused by a stampede. The Israeli preliminary investigation indicates that at least ten of the victims were shot dead by their soldiers during the event.
