Petro in Conference on Venezuela: We will return to dictatorships or we will understand each other

The president of Colombia Guastavo Petro, asked himself this Tuesday, April 25, during the inauguration of the International Conference on the political process in Venezuela, if “we will return to dictatorships” or “we will understand each other.”

“The question I ask myself is, will Latin America go back to the 70s? Will we return to dictatorships again or can we understand each other to establish alternations? ”, She said.

“Part of today’s work has to do with defining it; If we are going towards love or we are going towards war. The history of Latin America is in our hands. What happens in Venezuela, in Colombia, in Ecuador, in Peru, can mark a path that goes towards war, ”he added.

Going into the matter, the Colombian president expressed his desire to achieve a consensus at the summit so that it is well received by the Venezuelan opposition and the regime of Nicolás Maduro.

“The great conquest is that the wishes and hopes of the Venezuelan people become a reality. That it is not a people that is scared by nothing, but that it be free and can make its decisions in deep freedom, ”he insisted.
