The love affair called ‘B&B Vol Liefde’ is almost over. For Petri it ends a little earlier. Thomas also turns out not to be a match for the former teacher and she is left alone in France.
“I’m sorry it didn’t work out”
Petri lacks substance with Thomas. She has to ask the questions and she regrets that. Also in the morning the conversation is difficult again. “I have resolved not to ask myself any more questions and see what happens then,” says Petri on camera. “That takes a lot of effort, because that’s not really how I’m put together.” She hopes that Thomas will take the initiative.
That turns out to be a vain hope. Petri keeps the conversation going again, but it’s very tiring. Thomas Petri also gets on her nerves while preparing lunch. He asks questions, but if that is of any use to you… The questions are only about how to cut the bread and how many slices. “Really good conversation at the moment, I think,” says Petri irritably. “I think I’m in your irritation zone,” Thomas remarks. “Do you have any idea why that is, Thomas?” she asks. But he doesn’t know that.

Petri has previously indicated that he needs to ask more questions. He can’t remember that conversation. “I think that’s totally sad,” she says. “Because that’s something that’s important to me.” Thomas thinks Petri asks so many questions so she knows what kind of meat she’s got, but he doesn’t think so. “My feeling goes out a little more to the feeling with each other.”
Petri can’t let go of her irritation. “I know from myself that I’m not so nice when I’m irritated. Then it’s good to take a step back and distance myself.” Thomas indicates that love is not there. “But if you never ask questions, you won’t find out what I’m like.” Because Thomas doesn’t feel love, he doesn’t think asking questions helps.
They plan to go to the market, but Petri no longer has to. She has come to the conclusion that this love affair is not the right one. “I’ve been thinking and I don’t think we should go to that market together. I notice that it’s going to be difficult for me to be cozy. I don’t think that’s good for either of us.” Thomas agrees.

Although Thomas doesn’t feel love either, he thinks it’s a pity. “It’s the end of the adventure.” In the beginning it seemed that this could be a match, but it is not. “It clicked, but more as an employer and employee or brother and sister.” He thinks that Petri is not going to find love easily. “She is a lady with a mind of her own. It is very difficult to put someone next to that.” Petri gives Thomas another bottle of wine. “Thank you for everything,” says Petri. “I wish you all the luck in the world.”
This is how Petri ends the adventure the way she started it: alone. “I am sorry that it did not work out. You start this in the hope that there is a man at the door with whom you click fantastically and who you would like to jump on, so to speak. That was not possible”, she analyzes her participation. She doesn’t give up. “If a nice man passes by again, he is more than welcome.”
