The Petrer City Council is carrying out an action in the San José neighborhood to widen the sidewalks and enable recesses so that the streets of this neighborhood are accessible. Specifically, work is being carried out on the streets Costa del sol, Costa Brava and Cap de Sant Antoni, since they were very old roads that had not only narrow sidewalks but also obstacles such as light poles and street lamps.
The performance, which features a investment of 48,000 euros of financially sustainable works, is going to suppose the widening the width of sidewalks up to 1.5 meters, eliminating obstacles and enabling stopes of sidewalks in corners and in crosswalks.
Is works are expected to be completed in about a month and, according to Councilor Fernando Portillo, “they are being carried out progressively so as not to have to lift the entire street at once and cause the least possible damage to the neighbors.”
