Shadows in the fog –
A new crime series, Shadows in the Mist, is taking place on Czech Television screens in Ostrava and its surroundings. Detectives deal with the harshest cases, but also their complex personal lives. The central pair of investigators was taken over by Jiří Vyorálek (47) and Petra Špalková (46), who played alongside her daughter in a crime scene.

Twelve-part crime scene Shadows in the fog received a very positive response after the premiere, which aired on Monday, January 3. He introduced the series, which takes place in Ostrava and its surroundings criminologist Magda Malá presented by Petra Špalková and her new partner Martin Černý played by Jiří Vyorálek. Together, they investigate criminal cases from unusual places, while strong storylines will follow the personal lives of investigators. Magda has to combine the time-consuming and psychologically demanding work of a policewoman with taking care of her family and her little daughter.
Martin came to Ostrava so as not to lose contact with his teenage son, who moved to his new home with his mother, Martin ‘s ex – wife today. The initial small rivalry between Magda and Martin gradually grows into mutual sympathy and respect. But they both have no idea Magda has been watched for some time by the recently released prisoner Hrbekwho implements a sophisticated plan to avenge her for her previous capture
As we mentioned above, in the new series, Špalková plays alongside Andělá Tichá, who is her daughter in the series and in real life. In an interview with tvguru.cz Among other things, the actress talked about what it was like to play with her child and film during the coronavirus.
It was no idyll
“Working with my own daughter was challenging and beautiful together. Although the Ostrava production and everyone from the staff did everything we could to make it as elegant and nervous as possible, there were still many moments that were demanding and exhausting. Also, realize that we shot everything during the first, second and third waves of coronavirus, so no idyll took place, “said the actress, known for example from the films Smradi or Václav.
She added that she was very happy with the way Angel fell into music with Jaroslav Plesl (47), who portrayed her dad in the series. “Bthey were close with humor and a certain kindness, they were like two conspirators, “ she added.
Spalkova and criminals
Petra Špalková has only starred in crime series so far. The role of the criminologist in Shadows in the Mist is thus her first major figure in this genre. What is the actress herself related to crime? “I like good criminals and I like to watch them. I like to watch good movies, the genre is not decisive for me. When it has depth, overlap, theme and a certain tapping, metaphor ii and direction… and acting performances… I will gladly get it right, ”revealed representatives of Magda Malá.
